The sun feels so good on our skin after a marathon winter but remember to use precaution when you are exposed as its warmth can be deceiving.
With over 5 million cases of diagnosed in the United States each year, skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. Furthermore, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable forms of cancer. Did you know that nearly 90 percent of non-melanoma skin cancers and 85 percent of melanoma cases are associated with exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun? By raising awareness of the dangers of unprotected exposure and encouraging sun-safe habits, we can change behaviors and save lives. If you have a personal story or know someone who does, please share and help spread awareness for the prevention of skin cancer.
Incidences of skin cancer are reaching epidemic levels, it is time to spread awareness of the disease and take preventive measures. May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the perfect time to get involved.
Here are some ways you can help spread the word this summer:

Mother’s Day only comes but once a year. It is chance for kids of all ages to take time out to appreciate mom for all she does to keep family happy and healthy.
Here are five ideas to celebrate mom this Mother’s Day and make her day extra special.
Take her out for a day of dining and shopping! What mom really loves most is spending time with you! To make the experience all about her, why not spend the day together doing what she loves? Furthermore, if shopping is not her thing, take her to a play or the movies instead, then hit her favorite restaurant.
Plan a picnic and bring all her favorite picnic foods. Mother’s Day comes at a perfect time of year to picnic! Everything is in bloom with the fragrant air and beautiful surroundings, why dine inside? Bring along a game of Croquet or lawn darts and get a fun prize for the winner.
Breakfast in Bed. Let her sleep in and serve her an elegant breakfast in bed with mimosa and her favorite breakfast. Try a new quiche recipe. She will appreciate your effort. Bring her fresh cut flowers along with big smiles from the “wait staff.” Include some additional surprises, like a homemade photo album with fun memories of the past year.
Plant some flowers. If you have some extra space in your garden, you can create a real, live Mother’s Day canvas. First, buy various packets of flower seeds that grow fast and well. Then have your family draw a picture or write a short message (like “We love Mom”) in the garden dirt with a stick. Drop the flower seeds into the dirt lines; then cover them up, and water every few days. Before long, your picture (or message) will be blooming, and you’ll have a Mother’s Day gift that keeps on growing.
Give her a day of pampering. At some point on Mother’s Day, mom may want some time alone for a little rest and relaxation. Make sure you get what she needs—and deserves—by asking for it in advance. For instance, a few days before Mother’s Day, ask her to give you a list of a few “services” she desires. Present her with the first one on Saturday to make it a Mother’s Day weekend experience.
Surprise mom this year with a special beauty and pampering gift from Belladerm MedSpa! Buy a $150 gift certificate from Belladerm MedSpa and receive a $25 gift card as a bonus to use for yourself or another special mom.
For everything mom does for you, be sure you make her Mother’s Day extra special! Consequently, she will know how much she is appreciated and truly loved.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! From your friends at Belladerm MedSpa.
