Need a lift? Belladerm MedSpa is the first practice in the Maple Grove area to carry Upneeq! This modern treatment for droopy eyes is a daily eye-drop application that encourages an uplifted look. Keep reading to learn more about what Upneeq can offer you.
How Does Upneeq Work?
Upneeq is prescribed in eye-drop form and can be used every day! Following prescription directions, one dose, once daily is all you need to encourage a lifted look.
What Conditions can it help with?
During clinical trials, they found dramatic results with patients who have acquired ptosis (low-laying lids) and Botox-induced ptosis. Botox-induced ptosis is when migration happens after Botox is injected into the forehead area resulting in relaxed muscles causing a low-laying eye appearance.
Is Upneeq Safe?
Yes. It’s FDA-Approved to be both safe and effective for the treatment of acquired eyelid ptosis in adults. Following clinical studies, the most common adverse reactions with Upneeq (occurring in 1-5% of patients) was eye inflammation, eye redness, dry eye, blurred vision, eye pain at time of use, eye irritation, and headache.
How Does It Compare to Eyelid Surgery?
While these treatments are not the same, Upneeq is the effective non-surgical solution to consider. It is a helpful yet temporary alternative to surgery for those who are not prepared to have a surgical eyelid lift. Our partners over at Mesna Plastic Surgery can guide you further on the surgical process known as a blepharoplasty and determine your candidacy for a surgical solution to acquired blepharoptosis or ptosis.
