What is BOTOX?
FDA-cleared Botox Cosmetic is a clear liquid that is injected with a minimally invasive ultra-fine needle into the treatment area. It uses botulinum toxin type A, specifically OnabotulinumtoxinA, that softens moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles that develop naturally as we age. Often referred to as a “wrinkle relaxer,” Botox injections will not dramatically change your facial appearance, only soften facial lines.
You’ll see natural looking results within a few days after your treatment. As Botox begins to work, the muscles in your face will become relaxed, so you can still frown, smile, or look surprised without those pesky wrinkles and creases. Plus, it helps prevent lines and wrinkles from deepening over time.

How does BOTOX work?
Botox is a neuromodulator derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling, or raising eyebrows causes the skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines and wrinkles. BOTOX® works by temporarily blocking the signal that tells a muscle to contract. Once injected, it works beneath the surface of the skin and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults – to help their skin look visibly smoother and younger.
What does a BOTOX treatment look like?
BOTOX® Cosmetic delivers subtle results when you are treated by someone who is qualified, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. When BOTOX® is administered by a trusted professional, you’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable lines.
How soon will I see results after my BOTOX treatment?
Once your treatment has been administered, it takes some time to visibly see results. You may notice a subtle smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 30 days lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment the frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines will gradually return.
