Injectables FAQs & Tips
Tox FAQs
BOTOX®
What issues does BOTOX correct?
BOTOX® quickly “airbrushes” out wrinkles and facial lines between your eyebrows, forehead, eye area, and smile lines. It is ideal for:
- Forehead lines
- Glabella or elevens (11s) – vertical lines between the brows
- Lifting the corners of the mouth
- Lateral orbit lines or Crow’s feet (creases at corner of eyes)
- Bunny lines (beside the nose)
- Perioral lines (smoker’s lines or vertical lip lines)
- Smile lines (around the mouth)
- Vertical platysma bands of the neck (diminishing neck bands)
- Reducing jowls
- Facial asymmetry
- Drooping eyelid (brow lift or eyebrow reshaping)
- Dimpled chins
- Preventing wrinkles from deepening over time
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
- Marionette lines
- Gummy smiles
- Dimpled chins
How does BOTOX work?
BOTOX is a neuromodulator derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling, or raising eyebrows can cause the skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines and wrinkles. BOTOX® works by temporarily blocking the signal that tells a muscle to contract.
Once injected, BOTOX works beneath the surface of the skin and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults—to help skin look visibly smoother and younger.
What does a BOTOX treatment look like?
BOTOX® Cosmetic delivers subtle results when you are treated by someone who is qualified, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. When BOTOX® is administered by a trusted professional, like our team at Belladerm MedSpa, you’ll look like yourself—but with less-noticeable lines.
How soon will I see results after my BOTOX treatment?
Once your treatment has been administered, it takes some time to see noticeable results. You may notice a subtle smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 30 days lasting up to four months for moderate-to-severe frown lines.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment, the frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines will gradually return.
How long does BOTOX last?
Treated muscles gradually return to their original condition after about three to four months. Remember that results vary from patient to patient, so your next appointment will be based on your results and aesthetic goals. Discuss your goals with our specialists today and find out what you can expect.
How much does BOTOX cost?
The cost for BOTOX® Cosmetic varies. A patient’s specific treatment cost depends on factors like the number of treatment areas, the number of injections needed, and if it is used with other treatments like JUVEDERM dermal fillers.
The best way to determine your BOTOX® cost is by scheduling a free consultation. If cosmetic injections are right for you, we customize a treatment plan that achieves your aesthetic goals while staying well within an affordable price range. Most patients spend between $300 to $500.
Is BOTOX safe?
When you choose BOTOX® Cosmetic, you can trust in its established track record. Backed by over 16 years of published studies, BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most widely researched and studied treatment of its kind, approved for use in 95 countries. The safety and efficacy of BOTOX® Cosmetic have been described in more than 528 peer-reviewed articles in scientific and medical journals.
Can BOTOX look natural?
BOTOX® is a technique-sensitive treatment, which is why it’s crucial a well-trained professional is performing the treatment. BOTOX® injections will look natural and subtle when an extensively trained medical expert, like those on our Belladerm team, is treating you.
Experience matters, and Belladerm MedSpa is among the top 1 percent of BOTOX® providers in the nation. Working with our experienced staff means no one will know you’ve had anything done.
Are men using BOTOX?
Numerous men make BOTOX® part of their regimen to look younger. The number of men choosing treatments like BOTOX® has quickly risen—especially in the last few years. The majority of men say they want to look better and younger, and that it helps them feel more confident.
Is it safe to use BOTOX with dermal fillers?
Yes, we often use both BOTOX® and the right combination of dermal fillers to achieve optimum results. Dermal fillers, like the Juvederm Family of Fillers, are used in different areas of the face to correct deep lines, increase volume in cheeks and lips, and enhance an overall youthful appearance.
Dysport®
How does Dysport work?
Dysport® is a purified formulation that has been shown to temporarily improve moderate-to-severe frown lines in adult patients under 65 years of age. Dysport® temporarily blocks the nerve signal that causes these facial muscles to contract and reduces muscle activity in the treated area so that the face appears more relaxed. Like BOTOX®, Dysport® only takes a few minutes to apply and normally lasts about three to four months.
How long does Dysport take to administer?
Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes.
How long does it take Dysport to work?
Though results vary, changes can be seen in as little as 24 hours, with over half of users seeing improvement in moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows within 2-3 days.
How long does Dysport last?
One treatment of Dysport provides results that may last for up to five months.
Is there any downtime?
Because there is minimal downtime after your treatment, you can get back to your day faster.
AQUAGOLD®
Benefits of AQUAGOLD®
AQUAGOLD® is a versatile tool for treating a number of cosmetic facial issues such as:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scarring
- Decreased skin elasticity
- Loss of facial volume
After an AQUAGOLD® procedure, there is little or no downtime. There may be a little redness for less than a day, but no bruising or chance of a mask-like or frozen-muscle look. The only restriction after the procedure is that you can’t wash your face for three to four hours.
Patients get an immediate improvement on their faces, necks, or décolletage for several months. AQUAGOLD® treatment may be applied every three to four months for accumulative improvement.
Filler FAQs
JUVÉDERM®
Am I a good candidate for Juvederm?
You’re a good candidate for Juvederm if you have fine lines and wrinkles and the desire to look younger. Dermal fillers work by “plumping” the skin, filling in the lines and wrinkles, and smoothing out the skin in the process. The number of injections required depends on your individual needs and the area you wish to treat. With so many filler products on the market, it’s difficult to know which option is best. Certain fillers work better for a particular area, so we recommend consulting an injection specialist about which treatment is right for.
What can you expect during treatment?
Since dermal fillers are non-surgical, treatment can usually be completed in an office visit. Depending on your provider, your initial treatment often begins with a consultation to determine your needs and desired outcomes. The injection specialist will review your medical history and discuss any concerns you may have prior to treatment. Although the risk associated with injectable fillers is relatively low, it’s important to disclose any allergies, medications, or neurological conditions you have to your provider.
Before the actual treatment, the injection site is cleaned, and a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area. Your specialist will then carefully inject the filler under the skin. You may notice results immediately, depending on the area. It’s not uncommon to experience mild bruising and swelling at the injection site. This usually lasts for about three to five days after treatment; however, the side effects will vary from patient to patient. Generally, dermal fillers last anywhere from 6 to 18 months but results depend on several variables, including the patient and the injection area. For example, the treatment for nasolabial folds (smile lines or folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth) usually last longer than lip injections.
Injectable dermal fillers offer a practical, cost-effective way to look younger. However, choosing the right injection specialist is key to receiving quality care and desirable outcomes. The trusted experts at Belladerm MedSpa will customize a treatment plan according to your needs and beauty goals.
How does Juvederm work?
When people think of reversing the aging process and starting the journey to a smoother, younger-looking face, they often think of Botox. While Botox can smooth wrinkles and make you look years younger, dermal fillers can address issues Botox can’t. Let’s talk dermal fillers. Dermal fillers lift and smooth deep wrinkles and folds by adding volume to the face for a fresher look.
As we age, natural collagen production decreases, making skin less elastic. Due to a lack of hyaluronic acid (HA) production, skin becomes drier, thinner, and less able to repair itself. Therefore, wrinkles and lines appear. The dermal filler injection procedure involves injecting gel that mimics your own naturally occurring HA through a tiny needle into the skin to add volume and freshness to the face.
What are the Types of Juvederm?
There are several different types of Juvederm on the market today. Choosing the right one for you depends on the condition of the focus area and the desired results. It’s best to consult your skin care professional to decide on the best course of treatment for you.
Juvederm Ultra
The softest dermal filler in the Juvederm family, Juvederm Ultra is injected into the dermis layer of the skin and used to treat mild to medium-depth wrinkles located from your nose to the corners of your mouth. It also smooths out depressed scars and enhances lips. Juvederm Ultra treatments are usually relatively painless and quick. This is the ideal treatment for anyone seeking to smooth mild to medium-depth wrinkles or plump areas with minor skin depression or fat loss. Results will last up to 12 months.
Juvederm Ultra Plus
Juvederm Ultra Plus is a thicker version of the Juvederm Ultra. It’s used to fill in depressed areas in the cheeks and correct deeper facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Ultra Plus is ideal for those looking to smooth deep folds and wrinkles or plump areas with deep skin depression or fat loss. Results usually last up to 12 months.
Juvederm Volbella
Volbella is a blend of different molecular weights of HA that creates subtle, long-lasting volume. A member of the Juvederm family, Volbella is used to increase lip fullness and soften the appearance of lines around the mouth. Since it contains the thinnest, most spreadable gel, it is also used to fill in acne scarring on the face, and even smooth out the delicate under eye area. Volbella usually lasts up to 12 months.
Juvederm Vollure
Vollure is the middle child of the Juvederm clan. It combines a perfect mix of spreadability and durability allowing for more natural facial expressions and movements after injection. It’s ideal for treating nasolabial folds and marionette lines as well as filling in moderate wrinkles and refreshing the lower part of the face. The treatment can last up to 18 months and has been found to be the longest-lasting dermal filler for nasolabial folds.
Juvederm Voluma
One of the thickest and strongest gels of the Juvederm family, Voluma is ideal for deeper injections into the cheeks. It gives your face a nice lift and boost of supple volume. If you’re looking for a natural contour and a defined, youthful look, Voluma is for you. No downtime is needed after the injection, and it can last up to two years. Whether you’re suffering from a lack of collagen production, acne, or other effects of the aging process, dermal fillers can give you a more natural appearance than surgical face lifts. They are used to reduce or eliminate wrinkles, raise scar depressions, enhance lips, and replace soft-tissue volume loss.
Juvederm Volux
The first and only FDA-approved Hyaluronic Acid filler designated for the lost definition of the Jawline, Volux is Juvederm's newest dermal filler. Juvederm Volux is ideal for those who are seeking a defined jawline and aspire to look gorgeous from all angles, especially in photos, or looking to address the signs of aging and aspire to look effortlessly ageless.
How long do Juvederm results last?
Results may last one year to two years, with optimal treatment and depending on the formula used. Correction is temporary; therefore, touch-up injections, as well as repeat injections, are usually needed to maintain optimal corrections. Of course, results may vary, and it is best to discuss your individual case with your injection specialist during your initial consultation.
Restylane®
Different Types of Restylane?
There are several different types of Restylane on the market today. Choosing the right one for you depends on the condition of the focus area and the desired results. It’s best to consult your skin care professional to decide on the best course of treatment for you.
Restylane-L
Targeting laugh lines and lips, Restylane-L is for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Restylane-L is also indicated for injection into the lips for patients over the age of 21. The use of Restylane-L is the ideal treatment for anyone seeking to restore the shape of lips and the appearance of laugh lines for a look that is natural and never overdone.
Restylane Kysse
Restylane Kysse is a flexible and supportive formulation that has the ability to integrate with your tissue, so it becomes one with your lips. Restylane Kysse is indicated for use in the lips and provides natural-looking volume, long-lasting results, and improved appearance of the indicated area. Results usually last up to 12 months, so you can keep telling your story beautifully.
Restylane Contour
As we age and lose volume in the midface, we also lose definition in the cheeks. Restylane Contour is the only cheek filler with XpresHAn Technology that restores your natural contour, frees dynamic expression, and refreshes your look.
Balancing the science and art of aesthetics, this unique hyaluronic acid gel creates natural-looking, subtly rejuvenated cheeks that are reminiscent of your younger self but true to what makes you beautiful today. Treatment with Restylane Contour usually lasts up to 12 months.
Restylane Defyne
Your unique facial expressions show the world what you think and how you feel. But over time, your skin loses volume and the lines around that pout or quirky grin don’t go away. That’s when it may be time for Restylane Defyne. Restylane Defyne is for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Have deeper laugh lines? Restylane Defyne provides flexibility and more support for deeper laugh lines. Your natural results can last up to 12 months.

RADIESSE®
How does RADIESSE® work?
RADIESSE® is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Over time, the gel is absorbed, and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres, leaving behind only your own natural collagen. RADIESSE® is injected through a small needle and immediately adds volume under the skin.
How long does RADIESSE® last?
Over time, RADIESSE® stimulates your body’s own natural collagen, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting. The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients.
SKINVIVE™
How SKINVIVE Works
During the procedure, your practitioner will use a fine needle to inject small amounts of SKINVIVE gel into the targeted areas. The gel then works by attracting and binding to water molecules, which helps to plump up the skin and smooth out wrinkles, improving skin hydration and overall appearance.
Recommended Sessions
The number of sessions depends on several factors, such as the severity of wrinkles or volume loss, the desired results, and the area being treated. Generally, most people require one to two sessions of SKINVIVE to achieve their desired results, although some may require more. Annual maintenance is recommended.
What is SKINVIVE, and how does it differ from traditional fillers?
SKINVIVE is the latest innovation from Juvéderm, designed to revolutionize skin rejuvenation. Unlike traditional fillers, SKINVIVE is not a filler; it's an "injectable hydrator." It is the first and ONLY microdroplet injectable created to enhance skin smoothness.
What can I expect from SKINVIVE treatment in terms of my skin's appearance?
As the exclusive microdroplet injectable treatment, SKINVIVE provides a radiant, youthful glow that lasts up to six months. You'll enjoy lasting smoothness, ensuring your skin looks and feels silky and soft. Unlike some treatments that require multiple sessions, SKINVIVE delivers noticeable results with just one treatment.
How long does a SKINVIVE treatment take?
A single SKINVIVE treatment takes only minutes to perform, making it a convenient option for even the busiest schedules. This quick and minimally invasive procedure is virtually painless.
How soon will I see the results from the SKINVIVE treatment?
You can expect to see full results within one month after your treatment. The "glow" can become noticeable as early as two weeks post-treatment.
How often should I get SKINVIVE treatments to maintain the results?
The recommended guideline is approximately one treatment every six months, which means two treatments per year to maintain the results.
Is SKINVIVE suitable for everyone?
SKINVIVE is suitable for individuals of all ages and skin types. Whether you're looking to improve skin quality, reduce signs of aging, or simply enhance your natural beauty, SKINVIVE delivers the aesthetic result you desire. It's an inclusive option for all clients.
Can I go about my daily activities immediately after a SKINVIVE treatment?
Yes, you can resume your regular activities right after a SKINVIVE treatment. The procedure is often referred to as a "lunchtime" treatment because it's quick and requires minimal downtime.
What sets SKINVIVE apart from other skin rejuvenation options?
SKINVIVE’s uniqueness lies in its lasting smoothness and deep hydration. This convenient "lunchtime" treatment also offers a six-month glow, with noticeable results in just a few weeks. SKINVIVE is suitable for everyone, regardless of skin type, condition, or concern.

What is Topical PRP?
This innovative treatment utilizes your body's naturalWhat is Topical PRP/PDGF?
Topical PRP/PDGF is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that enhances the benefits of microneedling by incorporating powerful growth factors to support collagen production and skin healing.
With PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), we extract and concentrate your body’s natural growth factors through a small blood draw. This PRP is then applied topically during SkinPen® Microneedling or RF Microneedling and needled into the skin for deeper absorption.
With PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factors), patients have the option to experience the same skin-repairing benefits without a blood draw. PDGF is a highly specialized formulation that mimics the effects of PRP but contains significantly higher concentrations of growth factors, maximizing your skin’s rejuvenation potential.
The microneedling process creates microchannels in the skin, allowing PRP or PDGF to penetrate more effectively. This stimulates natural collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, tone, and firmness over time. Patients often see a reduction in fine lines, a more even complexion, and an overall healthier glow.

The VI Peel is a quick, easy procedure that takes about 45 minutes. During the treatment, your skin is cleansed and prepped with a special solution before the peel is applied. You may feel a warm or tingling sensation, but this is normal and subsides quickly.
After the treatment, your skin may appear pink and feel tight. These effects should fade within a few hours. For best results, we provide post-treatment instructions that include avoiding sun exposure and using take-home aftercare products to assist your skin’s healing process.

HydraFacial™
What to Expect with HydraFacial™
HydraFacial™ treatments might be just what you need to achieve smoother, more radiant, younger-looking skin quickly and non-invasively. You can expect:
- Increased collagen formation
- Decreased pore size and fine lines
- Decreased hyperpigmentation
- Improved texture and skin tone
In addition to our standard HydraFacial™ treatment, Belladerm also offers a deluxe HydraFacial™ that includes our medical grade Omnilux™ Light Therapy, which enhances your results. The color of light used is based on your skincare needs.
Is HydraFacial right for me?
To determine if HydraFacials are right for you, it's recommended to have a consultation with one of our licensed, experienced skin care providers. They can help decide if HydraFacials will give you the type of skin enhancement results you want and need. If you are seeking a non-invasive treatment for fine lines, acne, uneven skin tone, clogged pores, or hyperpigmentation, you may want to consider HydraFacials. If your skin often reacts poorly to strong chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments, or if you have naturally dry and/or sensitive skin, then HydraFacials might be right for you.
What is HydraFacial?
The HydraFacial™ is the newest breakthrough in skin resurfacing technology. A non-invasive, non-irritating exfoliation alternative to other ablative treatments, the HydraFacial™ produces comparable outcomes in skin rejuvenation, anti-aging, and acne-prone/oily skin treatment. It’s the only procedure that integrates cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration simultaneously.
How does it work?
The HydraFacial™ exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities with a vacuum-based skin abrasion tip while simultaneously bathing the healthy underlying skin with active serums that cleanse deeply, exfoliate thoroughly, hydrate completely, and provide residual antioxidant protection.
Diamond Glow®
What is Diamond Glow®?
Diamond Glow® is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that combines exfoliation, extraction, and serum infusion in one step. Using a diamond-tipped wand, it gently buffs away dead skin cells, clears out pores, and delivers condition-specific serums for refreshed, healthy-looking skin.
Is Diamond Glow® safe for all skin types?
Yes! Diamond Glow® is suitable for most skin types and is fully customizable. Whether you’re dealing with dryness, acne, dullness, or discoloration, your provider will tailor the treatment to your skin’s specific needs.
Is there any downtime after a Diamond Glow® treatment?
No. One of the benefits of Diamond Glow® is that there’s no downtime. You may experience a mild rosy glow immediately after your treatment, but you can return to your normal activities right away.
How often should I get a Diamond Glow®?
Many clients see noticeable improvement after just one treatment, but for best results, we recommend a series of treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Your provider will create a personalized plan based on your skin goals.

- Allows treatment of large areas such as the face and chest
What is LED light therapy?

How safe is it?
LED light therapy is safe and harmless to your skin and generate no heat. The light works naturally with your body to promote the healing response. The only safety measure is to wear goggles to protect your eyes from the light.
What are expected results?
Optimum results will be seen between 4-8 weeks after treatment. The light stimulates natural processes that continue after the treatment has stopped.
Microneedling FAQs
SkinPen®
Am I a good candidate for SkinPen Treatments?
Using the state-of-the-art VISIA™ complexion analysis device, a Belladerm professional can determine if you are a good candidate for SkinPen and customize a program to bring out the beauty in your skin.
Most microneedling candidates have at least some of the following concerns:
- Fine lines or wrinkles, especially on the face
- Areas of discoloration on the skin
- Areas of sunspots or other damage
- · Uneven skin tone or lack of radiance
- Large or unsightly pores
- Acne scars or other scar tissue
Microneedling procedures may cause minor redness, so we recommend preparing a day or two of downtime in advance. That said, you can return to your normal activities and skin regimens the following day.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a non-surgical, medical grade precision tool that works by creating a series of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, which will also allow products to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing your results.
Who is a good candidate for microneedling?
Women and men of all ages and all skin-types who seek fresher, healthier-looking skin may use Microneedling. It benefits those with hyperpigmentation, acne scars, or fine lines and wrinkles.
How long does microneedling take?
Microneedling is a non-surgical, in-office procedure that is performed in about 60 minutes.
What areas of the body can microneedling be used?
Microneedling can treat the face, neck, back, arms, legs, décolletage, and abdomen.
How many treatments are necessary to see results?
Microneedling results vary between individuals and the type of skin care concerns being addressed. A series of three to six treatments spaced about four to six weeks apart may be recommended to achieve maximum results.
Is there any downtime with microneedling?
The downtime with Microneedling depends on the depth of the repair process required. It is typical for patients to have some slight redness, much like a mild sunburn, for two to four days following the procedure. Many patients heal completely in about 24 hours.
RF Microneedling
How does RF microneedling work?
This beautifying process uses small needles and radiofrequency energy to manage skin damage, triggering the development of new, sleeker skin.
Is microneedling painful?
RF microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure, so patients may experience slight discomfort. To ensure client comfort, our beauty experts apply a numbing cream prior to the procedure. Many describe feeling some pressure and sporadic instances of warmth.
Why should I consider RF microneedling?
Radiofrequency microneedling provides firmer and smoother skin while addressing many beauty concerns. Diminish wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging while also treating facial blemishes or patchy skin.
How does RF microneedling compare to standard microneedling?
For a more gradual and understated skin renewal, standard microneedling works well. RF microneedling promotes collagen and elastin production, so it’s more effective at achieving an overall improved texture and tone.
What are the advantages to RF microneedling?
The RF microneedling approach to more radiant-looking skin focuses on a host of concerns, from tone imbalance and pock marks to laugh lines and wrinkles. This easy procedure is tailored to your needs and requires no incisions with very little recovery time.
Look and feel your best with the help of RF microneedling. Contact us today to book your free consultation or request an appointment — and rediscover your skin’s radiance.
Laser FAQs
Halo™
What results can I expect?
Halo™ is a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity, and glow.
How many treatments will I need?
What is great about Halo™ is that you can choose how many treatments you want. Discuss your needs with your clinician, and you can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.
What happens during the treatment?
Thirty minutes to an hour before the treatment, your physician may place a topical ointment on your skin to reduce the sensation during the treatment. Your clinician will then measure your face with motion tracking technology to ensure your face is treated evenly. The clinician will treat a section of your face at a time by rolling the Halo™ handpiece in a crisscross pattern until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.
What does Halo™ feel like?
With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience very little discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations but are generally comfortable. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 15 to 30 minutes.
Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?
Absolutely. For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that, you should be able to go about your normal activities.
After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days, you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four, your skin will peel, revealing new skin beneath.
When will I see results?
You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo™ treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months.
How long will my results last?
Your Halo™ results will last for years to come, but you should continue to keep your new, healthy skin protected at all times by using UVA/UVB sunscreen. Each additional Halo treatment you get will only improve the results, giving you even better-looking skin.
BBL™ Therapy
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient, and your clinician will personalize a treatment plan based on your beauty needs and desired outcome.
What will happen during the procedure?
The procedure is typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic; however, your clinician may choose to use it.
We take care to protect your eyes with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or rubber band snap sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. The procedure may take as little as a few minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your clinician will discuss all the options with you, including the benefits, risks, and what to expect.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Consult your clinician if it does not. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated.
How long will it take to recover and what aftercare procedure should I follow?
This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work and resume most of your activities immediately. Your clinician will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as give you an aftercare plan to follow that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.
Laser Hair Removal
Is it permanent?
Every person is different. We can’t promise complete hair removal, but most experience 50 to 90 percent hair reduction. Maintenance sessions may be necessary in some cases, and at Belladerm, we stand behind our work. We offer a 50 percent discount on up to two maintenance treatments per area, per year.
Does it work for all hair and skin types?
Laser hair removal works better for darker hair types. The LightSheer™ laser, which is considered the gold standard in laser hair removal, does work for light, gray, and red hair, but it may take more sessions to get the best results.
For darker skin types, test areas need to be done to see the reaction of the skin to the laser. Since the laser is attracted to the melanin, which is higher in darker skinned people, it is more difficult to target the melanin in the hair shaft. Therefore, some pre-treatment might be necessary with a skin lightener for darker skin.
Is there any pre-treatment?
You cannot pluck, wax, use a depilatory, or have electrolysis in the areas you want to treat for six weeks prior to laser hair removal. Do not tan the areas for four weeks prior to treatment. Avoid using self-tanning products for two weeks prior to treatment. The area to be treated should be shaved before treatment.
What post-treatment is necessary?
You will need to wear sunscreen regularly during your laser treatment package and for six weeks after completing your packages. Avoid irritants for seven days after treatment.
Does it hurt?
The level of discomfort depends on the density of hair. For most people, it feels like a rubber band snap. Topical anesthesia can be used for areas that are more sensitive.
Body & Wellness FAQs & Tips
Body Contouring FAQs
CoolSculpting® Elite
How much is Coolsculpting Elite?
The retail cost of CoolSculpting® Elite varies based on your individual goals and other determining factors such as the number of applications received. The cost to treat multiple body areas averages $2,700, while treating single areas (like the chin) can cost under $1,400. This is without any special promotions, so the cost can often be substantially less. However, the best way to determine the exact price is to come in for a free consultation, so our certified experts can design a treatment plan that meets your personal goals.
How does Coolsculpting Elite eliminate fat cells?
Cold is the only known way to effectively kill fat cells. The CoolSculpting applicator will chill stubborn fat cells to a certain temperature (around -11°C) for a specific amount of time (35 to 75 minutes) and your body will tell those fat cells to die. Fortunately, a fat cell is much less tolerant of the cold than other cells in your body. No other cells, such as nerve, skin, or muscle cells, are damaged during the procedure. After the treatment ends, a two-minute frozen fat massage will damage those crystallized fat cells so the body can’t repair them. These damaged fat cells will die over a two-to-three-day period and then the dead fat cells will take two to four months to flush out of your body (about a French fry worth of fat a day), leaving a more sculpted you! The skin is not negatively compromised (no loose skin) and the results are beautiful and lasting.
How long does each treatment take?
Treatment time is roughly 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the area.
How many areas can be treated at once?
We can treat up to four areas at the same time, something few other providers can do. Coolsculpting Elite treats two areas at once compared to the old technology, which wasn’t as efficient.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments is based on the patient’s individual goals. Most patients require two to three treatments in a single treatment area.
Are the results permanent?
Yes. Once fat cells are destroyed and removed from the body, they cannot be regenerated. Each time you treat an area with CoolSculpting Elite, you can expect an average of 20 – 25 percent reduction. The procedure is safe to do multiple times in one area should you want even more reduction.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
No. There is no required downtime after the procedure. However, some patients may experience discomfort in the treatment area like cramping, tingling, numbness, and slight swelling. Since there is no downtime or recovery period, many patients have the procedure done during their lunch break.
What does the procedure feel like?
The CoolSculpting Elite procedure is akin to placing an ice pack on your bare skin. Some experience a slight burning or tingling sensation for a few minutes, like when you put your cold hands into warm water, but that subsides quickly. After each application, your technician will perform a two-minute manual massage to help break down the crystallized fat cells and bring the temperature back to normal. This may feel slightly uncomfortable, but any discomfort does not last long. Within minutes, your body will not show any visible signs of the treatment.
Can I get other treatments done with Coolsculpting in one visit?
Yes. We routinely offer combination treatments for the best results and efficient use of your time. We have four treatment rooms to ensure clients can be seen during their busy schedules.
How long is the initial consultation?
Your free CoolSculpting Elite consultation will take about 45 minutes and we will give you a specific treatment plan and price estimate at that time. Once we determine if you’re a good candidate, we can likely treat you the same day.
How long until I see results?
Results can be seen in as little as four weeks, but the best results are seen in two to three months. Some results can take up to six months to fully develop.
Are there any side effects?
Generally, there are no side effects from CoolSculpting; however, some people may feel temporary tingling, numbness, tenderness, bruising or swelling in the treated area. Treated areas may become slightly flushed post-treatment for a period of up to one hour. Side effects are temporary and will subside in time.
How effective is Coolsculpting over diet and exercise?
Chances are, you have some “problem areas” – areas that likely contain more fat cells than the adjacent parts of the body. You may NOT need to lose any weight. That’s why CoolSculpting Elite is the perfect solution. Now you can target those areas without having to undergo surgery or other invasive procedures. When adults gain weight (excluding obesity), the fat cells are simply getting larger, like balloons. When you lose weight, these fat cells just get smaller. With the CoolSculpting procedure, the number of fat cells is permanently reduced. Unsightly fat bulges can be significantly minimized or nearly eliminated. Once destroyed, the body's natural processes remove the dead fat cells from those targeted treatment areas.
Who is an ideal candidate?
Generally, healthy individuals who are within 20 – 30 pounds of their goal weight and want to treat areas of stubborn fat. Those above 30 pounds may still receive CoolSculpting; however, more treatments may be needed to achieve a peak result. Those who are closer to 50 pounds overweight would be advised to try diet and exercise first and return to the clinic at a future date for treatment of the more stubborn fat.
How do you ensure patient safetly?
Patient safety has and will always be our number one priority. If you would like, you can wait in your car until your appointment time. Call us when you arrive and let us know you’re waiting. We ask that you do not bring anyone else to your appointment, including children. Our staff wears PPE. We ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.
KYBELLA®
What is submental fullness?
Submental fullness due to submental fat, sometimes referred to as "double chin," is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition. It can detract from an otherwise balanced and harmonious facial appearance – leading to an older and heavier look.
Submental fullness can impact a broad range of adults and is not limited to people who are overweight. This condition can impact men or women of average weight and can be caused by aging, genetics, and weight gain. It is often resistant to diet and exercise alone.
According to a 2014 survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), over two thirds of consumers are bothered by submental fullness – nearly as many as those bothered by lines and wrinkles around the eye.
What is KYBELLA?
KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection, also known as ATX-101, is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness due to submental fat.
KYBELLA™ is indicated for improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe convexity or fullness associated with submental fat in adults. The safe and effective use of KYBELLA™ for the treatment of subcutaneous fat outside the submental region has not been established and is not recommended.
How does KYBELLA work?
KYBELLA™ is a non-human and non-animal formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA™ is not expected. Due to its cytolytic activity, KYBELLA™ should not be injected into or in close proximity to vulnerable anatomic structures.
How is KYBELLA administered?
KYBELLA™ is administered by injections into the fat under the chin. Each in-office treatment session is typically 15-20 minutes.
Treatment with KYBELLA™ is customized by the provider to the patient’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile.
What are the results of KYBELLA clinical trials?
In the pooled, pivotal Phase III studies, 68.2 percent of patients responded to KYBELLA™ based on a composite of validated provider and patient measurements. Many patients experienced visible results in two to four treatments. KYBELLA™ treatment resulted in high patient satisfaction.
In clinical studies, 28, 43, and 55 percent of KYBELLA™-treated patients had a one-grade composite improvement after two, three, and four treatments, respectively.
Patients also reported improvement in the emotional impact of submental fat when asked how happy, bothered, self-conscious, embarrassed, old, and overweight they felt following treatment in relation to the amount of their submental fat.
Is KYBELLA safe?
KYBELLA™ has been the focus of a global clinical development program involving over 20 clinical studies with more than 2,600 patients worldwide, of which over 1,600 have been treated with KYBELLA™.
Production of KYBELLA™ is a highly controlled, quality-assured and validated, current Good Manufacturing Practices-compliant process to ensure patient safety. KYBELLA™ contains no human or animal-derived substances.
What are the side effects?
The safety profile of KYBELLA™ is well characterized. Side effects may include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, or formation of small areas of firmness. Adverse events with KYBELLA™ infrequently resulted in discontinuation from study (1.6 percent of participants). Care must be taken when injecting KYBELLA™ to avoid the risk of marginal mandibular nerve injury and dysphagia.

Medical Weight Loss
How Does Medical Weight Loss Work?
Our medically-assisted weight loss program combines prescription-based treatments with expert guidance to help you achieve sustainable weight loss. The medication, known as trizepatide and semagludite, works by supporting appetite regulation and metabolism, making it easier to feel full and stay on track with your goals. Unlike fad diets or quick fixes, our approach is personalized to your unique needs, ensuring safe and effective results under medical supervision. With ongoing support from our team, you’ll have the tools to build long-term success and a healthier lifestyle.
Who is a Good Candidate for Medical Weight Loss?
Ideal candidates are individuals looking for a safe, effective, and sustainable way to lose weight with the guidance of medical professionals. Next, you’ll come in for an in-person assessment, where our team will develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Once treatment begins, we provide ongoing support with regular check-ins to monitor progress, make adjustments as needed, and ensure you’re achieving lasting results.

Do I Need to Follow a Specific Diet or Exercise Plan?
Our medical weight loss program is designed to support your body's natural ability to lose weight, but long-term success is best achieved with healthy lifestyle habits. While there is no strict diet or exercise plan required, we encourage balanced nutrition and regular physical activity to enhance your results.
We’ll help you make sustainable choices that complement your treatment and promote long-term success.
How Much Weight Can I Loose?
The amount of weight you can lose varies depending on factors such as your individual medical history, adherence to the prescribed program, and consistency with lifestyle recommendations. On average, our patients experience a steady weight loss of 2-4 pounds per week, with a total reduction of 15-20% of their body weight over time.
Are the Results Permanent?
Medical weight loss with prescription medication is a powerful tool for achieving and maintaining a healthier weight. However, research shows that weight loss medications work best when used as part of a long-term strategy. Just like other chronic conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes, obesity is a complex, ongoing condition that often requires continued support to maintain results.
Once you reach your goal weight, stopping medication completely may lead to weight regain. That’s why we have designed a customized maintenance program to help you transition into long-term success. Our approach includes:
- Gradual dose adjustments to determine the lowest effective dose for maintaining results.
- Ongoing check-ins to support continued success
While every patient’s journey is unique, our goal is to provide the tools and guidance needed to help you maintain your weight loss and feel your best for years to come.
Are There Any Side Effects?
As with any prescription medication, our medical weight loss treatments may cause some side effects. Most are mild and temporary as your body adjusts. The most commonly reported side effects include:
- Nausea
- Digestive discomfort (bloating, gas, or constipation)
- Fatigue
- Decreased appetite
To help manage side effects, we can prescribe medications for nausea if needed and offer complimentary B-12 injections to support energy and overall well-being. Additionally, our team will monitor your progress closely, adjusting your dosage as needed to minimize discomfort.
Serious side effects are rare, and we provide ongoing support to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. If you have any concerns, we’re here to help every step of the way.
How Do You Ensure Patient Safety?
At Belladerm MedSpa, your health and safety are our top priorities. Our program is supervised by our in-house Medical Director, who is personally involved in this program to ensure it meets the highest standards of care.
Before starting the program, we conduct thorough screenings, including a comprehensive health assessment and baseline weight loss labs, to ensure you’re a good candidate for the treatment. Throughout your journey, we provide regular check-ins, monitor your progress, and adjust your treatment as needed to keep you on track safely.
Additionally, our Medical Director and Nursing team are always available to address any questions or concerns you may have, ensuring you receive the support you need for a safe and successful experience.
B12 Injections
What are B12 Injections?
B12 injections deliver a concentrated dose of vitamin B12 directly into the muscle, bypassing the digestive system for faster absorption and more noticeable results. B12 supports energy levels, metabolism, mood, red blood cell production, and nervous system function. It's an ideal option for those with low energy, brain fog, or B12 deficiencies — or anyone wanting a natural wellness boost.
Who is a Good Candidate for B12 Injections?
Most healthy adults can benefit from B12 injections, especially if they experience fatigue, low mood, or sluggish metabolism. They’re also popular with patients undergoing medical weight loss, managing a busy lifestyle, or looking to enhance their overall wellness. During your visit, our medical team will ensure it’s a safe and appropriate treatment for you.
How Often Should I Get B12 Injections?
Many patients begin with weekly or bi-weekly injections and taper as they start feeling results. The frequency can vary depending on your wellness goals, lifestyle, and current B12 levels. Our medical team will help you create a personalized plan based on your individual needs.
Is There Any Downtime or Side Effects?
There’s no downtime with B12 injections—most patients are in and out in minutes and return to their day immediately. Mild soreness at the injection site is possible but typically short-lived.
Restorative Therapies FAQs
diVa®
Is diVa® painful?
Most women report minimal discomfort during their diVa® treatment.
Who is a candidate for diVa®?
Women who experience certain vaginal symptoms may find relief or improvements after treatment with diVa®. Women may want to consider diVa® if they are experiencing:
- Vaginal dryness
- Vaginal pain
- Painful intercourse
- Vaginal laxity
What will I experience during diVa® vaginal therapy?
diVa® uses a strengthened quartz dilator that remains stationary during the procedure. diVa® takes only three to five minutes for both lasers to treat the full length of the vaginal canal. Some women experience a feeling of pressure but generally have little to no pain or discomfort during the procedure. If you feel anxious about pain, we can apply a topical anesthetic if needed.
How long do diVa® results last?
After treatment, patients experience a period of improvement until they have reached their goal. Then the collagen and other tissue will begin to age naturally. A recent study showed 92 percent of women felt diVa® met their expectations.
Spider Vein Therapy
What should I expect after being treated with Asclera®?
- Maintain graduated compression seven days after treatment. Post-treatment compression is necessary to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis. For extensive varicosities, longer compression treatment is recommended.
- Patients are usually encouraged to get up and walk 15-20 minutes immediately after treatment and daily for one week to prevent blood clots from forming around the treatment site. Compression stockings may be recommended to promote healthy blood flow and faster healing of the injection sites. The time frame for wearing compression stockings may vary depending on the patient, but it is usually one week.
- Some patients experience mild bruising, swelling, or skin discoloration at the injection sites. Skin discoloration may take a number of months to resolve but usually resolves without medical intervention.
What should I avoid after receiving an Asclera® injection?
For one week following the treatment, we recommend that patients avoid:
- Heavy exercise
- Sunbathing
- Long plane flights
- A hot bath or sauna
